Elder Albert Burns

Husband of nearly 40 years; Father to 5; Grandfather to 10 plus 2 greats; Baby Brother to 2 sisters.

Born to a Pullman porter and a domestic worker, he grew up watching both father and mother serving others, as well as each other; service is in his DNA. Albert is happiest when he knows that he has helped facilitate your success or your well-being.

Albert was born into the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Kansas City, Kansas, where he gave his life to Christ as a child. As a teenager he received his call into ministry hearing God’s voice saying, “Blessed are they that prepare for the ministry and await their appointed time.” While a senior in high school, during a Tuesday night midweek service Albert preached his first sermon from Luke 9. 62. That message was inspired by the words that he heard his mother say in prayer, “Lord, give him to say. an eternal yes.” His message was titled, Eternal Yes. Albert served for the next 12 years as a Sunday School teacher and in youth ministry leadership in his home church, as well as at the state level.

In 1985 Albert married his lovely wife, Billie, whose flowing hair caught his eye, but her love for the Lord captured his heart. They have been serving together in ministry ever since, in Illinois, Georgia, now in North Carolina. His favorite ministries have been as a care elder at The Point Church in Apex, NC and as the nursing home minister, also with The Point Church. It brought him such joy to bring church each Sunday morning to those who could not go to church.

Albert and Bille heeded the Lord’s leading to unite with this fellowship, Proclaiming Christ Gospel Ministries earlier this year after moving to Spring Lake during the later part of 2022. Gen. 2. 15 says “And the Lord took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. Application: God puts us places for a purpose. Albert is excited to live out God’s purpose for placing him in this part of His vineyard.
